Throw Blankets Can Keep The Chill Off

February 15, 2010

It’s chilly outside and a small or large throw blanket to wrap around you is a wonderful and cozy way to warm up your mood and body. Keep the chill off with great throw blankets. Create a warm habitat to keep you warm and sometimes you can even get one that cheers you up!

Especially for your bedroom you could also use the throw blankets. This would not only beautify your bedroom but would double as bedding. Depending on the frequency of the usage the material of the throw blankets should be considered. In case the usage is low then one could go for the once that can’t be hand washed however, if the usage frequency is high, cotton throw blankets are the best. These could be washed at home and at the same time the running cost of dry-cleaning can be taken care of. These throw blankets are available at great price range; one could have a great congeries in a particular price range that the person is aiming at.

Home Furnishings For Comfort

February 2, 2010

Comfort is key, so we want to look at getting the best home furnishings we can to make our dwelling or home a good place to be.

When just starting out a few essentials are really all one needs. Bedding for the bedroom, towels for the bathroom, kitchen table and chair and a few pots and pans and utensils for cooking and perhaps a rug if you can find one. Pictures come later or freehand drawings or artwork can work well, especially if you have kids.

TV and comfy chairs for the living room are great, but when things are tight then a rug on the floor will do nicely and a pillow and a good book. A lamp is a must for reading after sundown.

We have found the Habitat for Humanity has some wonderful selections of everything for your home that are very inexpensive and are more than affordable once you get your feet on the ground.  The quality can be very nice too as these products come from donations from your local town or city people. They are redecorating or found something new they want and no longer need the old dishwasher or whatever. This does not mean these things are not really nice and high quality… they are just not needed anymore by those that donate.

It’s a great look to the future when just beginning to furnish your home. Habitat for Humanity Rocks!

Koi Fish Tapestries - Color

October 14, 2009

Tapestries are the wall hangings of the ancient era. There is no doubt that people were always fascinated by the magnificent history and its impacts. This is one of the significant reasons that drove people to endeavor and comprehend the documents or evidences of our environment that has emerged with spectacular arts. Tapestries are not mere wall hangings. They are wall hangings that are done with immense dedication and awareness.

Lets look at one where it is apparently obvious in the work of the Koi Fish Tapestry. The opulence of each color blends with the fabrics making each wall piece explicitly outstanding on its own. Right from the koi fish example to old world maps to wines and feasts, has been brought out magnificently in such a manner that you will be dazed to view such remarkable performances.

More of our environment is heading into the eco friendly world of being kinder to our planet. We are trying to increase our awareness to the homeless and those with newly acquired homes. We like the cute picture of the dog on the eco friendly bed as we get conversations going and then lead into some simple ideas on what we all can do to go green and educate our neighborhood for a planet friendly lifestyle. We always like to start with the basics.

Van Gogh’s The Starry Night Throw Blankets

August 4, 2009

One of many of the famous artists is Van Gogh and his The Starry Night Throw Blanket. Just as this famed painting by the artist, Van Gogh was one of the most favored, so is the throw depicting this piece of art. The blues are the primary colors in this piece so you want to use this in a room that will complement the colors.  This throw is good if you want to drape it so it hangs from the back of big chair preferably high backed and French provincial would be perfect. You could fold the sides of the throw in just enough so it fits perfectly draped over the back of the chair with the majority of it hanging down the back as it falls towards the floor let it fan out. It can actually touch the floor. Naturally, you are going to want the chair positioned in such a way that the throw is totally visible when one enters the room.

Don’t rule out the using throws as a wall hanging. In addition, they make an absolutely beautiful bedspread. Again, it’s a matter of picking the right famous artist piece to fit the home decor of the room you are going to be using it in. For example if your atmosphere leans towards the antique then The Sunday Afternoon throw would be perfect. Choose the right look for the room, you’ll be glad you did.

Jungle Sunset Wall Art by Rousseau Makes Home Decor Rock!

July 26, 2009

Rousseau painted several sceneries featuring jungles. His works are imaginative but with a naiveté and simplicity that was consistent all his life. His jungles, such as Jungle Sunset are composed of fantastic, even mythological plants and wild animals with piercing eyes. The characters are rendered in a vibrant, vivid, thoroughly mesmerizing style with folk elements included. Some of his greatest works include The Dream and The Snake Charmer, which are now housed in the Museum of Modern Art and the Louvre, respectively. His paintings have a haunting, dreamlike quality, which transforms even ordinary, mundane things into magical, extraordinary objects. Makes for striking home decor.

Jungle Sunset, like many other beautiful masterpieces, are always reproduced by various artists and art entrepreneurs. Some are tapestry wall hangings of Jungle Sunset. Some are prints produced using serigraphic or lithographic printing processes and are printed on only the best quality papers, such as acid-free, archival papers. Some prints are considered almost museum-quality prints and are supplied only to trusted, leading art houses or art publishers. They are made precisely to satisfy even the most discerning art collector.

The Cat Lover Lifestyle

July 16, 2009

Tips for the Cat Lover Lifestyle. Picking a gift for them is not that hard.

Go with any of the colors in the cats throw blankets for their home decor. With some neutral colored furniture and the cat throw open and draped over a chesterfield the room is going to look warm, rich and inviting. Itís all a matter of working with the colors in the throw and using the throw as the focal point. With it being done line this it is not over run with cats (no pun intended) yet is a room any cat lover would find most enjoyable. When it comes to pictures for the wall go with florals or spring/summer/fall scenes of valleys and meadows. Even though the cats we are talking about here donít forget they are part of the cat family and they inhabitant is in the natural.

There are many varieties of Wysocki cat throws to choose from. You can create a totally different atmosphere with whichever one you choose. You can actually change your room from a spring/summer time period to a fall/winter simply by changing your cat throw, a few accessories and your drapes.

Throw blankets ~ Semper Fi

July 5, 2009

Simper Fi is a very common phrase and this phrase invites everybody under the umbrella of the Marine Corps of the United States Army. This slogan is very often used by the marine corps of the American armed forces. It is a message to the common man telling him that he can also be a part of this force and this force is probably the most demanding force in the entire world. The marines are regarded as the finest fighting unit in the entire world and naturally this force will demand a lot from the soldiers.

Owners of the throw blankets with Semper Fi depicted feel honored and this can be also regarded as a kind remembrance of the men who have sacrificed their lives for their motherland. The true meaning of this phrase is utter faithfulness. This blanket throw will be liked by your kids too; they too dream of becoming a marine when they grow up. This blanket throw can be kept anywhere inside your house but it will add elegance to the interiors of your house. They are of superior quality and finish. People who want to respect the marines can go for this throw blanket. The superior quality of this blanket makes it long lasting.

Spring Cleaning Brings Value to Homeless Decor

April 25, 2009

The weather has turned magic and people are outside and beginning the process of cleaning out the clutter from their homes. Many turn to the Salvation Army with donations. Soup kitchens are showing up with more donations, too. A small room in the back overflows with all matter of things… rugs, lamps, as well as soaps and shampoo and other misc items. And they are all $1 or less to give the needy a chance to spruce up their “home”.

Many homeless eventually get back on their feet and end up getting a home. During the transition period and after many will come to the soup kitchen to eat and look around in the back for things they might need and use in their new quarters.

It’s all working out when we give to a variety of places with our junk that turn into treasures for others… give and receive the join in the gift to others.

Wrap Your Memories Around You with Photo Blankets

March 27, 2009

A friend of ours lost her dog and then the cat six short months later. The doggie lived a nice long life, but the kitty was only six years old. We think she died of a broken heart when the cute little doggie passed away. Sad.

Her daughter had mentioned that she missed her pets when she would come home from college to visit. So with a 21st birthday coming up this week, her mom decided to shift through some pics of the dog and cat together and came up with an adorable photo where the cat is grooming the dog on the bed. She had the picture woven into a memory blanket (photo blanket) and gave it to her daughter for her birthday. She told me her daughter cried when she opened her gift. She could not stop talking about it the rest of the evening and told her mom how much she loved it. It was a hit!

Decor4u offers these photo blankets, which can be delivered to your home in 1 week. Fast and easy if your looking for a special photo gift for your family or friends.

All folding chairs and it’s worked out well as we’ve replaced our older ones with the better and newer ones and simply given the old away to those in need. It was from on old hall that had to close it’s doors to make way for a new string of shops. So we lucked out and got the chairs… we’re not sure who got the tables. Lots of tables.

And they are loved and go like hot cakes for cheap. And we continue to get this nice wall hangings. Somebody out there likes us and is always giving us a helping hand.

Deer & Shields Medieval Tapestry Wall Hanging

January 20, 2009

This is a beautiful tapestry wall hanging that shows the Medieval Times when the knights carried the protective shields with their very own coat of arms signature. The deer in this Medieval Tapestry, Deer & Shields keep a watchful eye out while our Knights of the Round Table slumber through the night.

This motif is taken from The Quest of The Holy Grail and is one of many, many tapestry wall hangings woven to depict the events of those fun and fanciful Medieval days.

Middle Ages Wove The News In The Medieval Tapestries

January 5, 2009

The period from approximately 1500 to 1750 is considered the golden age of European tapestry production. During the Middle Ages, it was typical for weavers to use artistic license and interpret freely when creating tapestries from working sketches. By 16th century, however, tapestry production was a highly regulated, rigidly controlled industry. The working designs, or “cartoons”, were paintings, often by masters, and were strictly copied by the weavers. Ten tapestries created from cartoons by Rafael, known as the Acts of the Apostles, hang in the Sistine Chapel to this day. Medieval Tapestries were practically like a newspaper.. telling all the tales and events of importance in the weaving of the fabrics. The exquisite detail and color of these hangings equaled any paintings of the time.

Bayeux Tapestries

October 6, 2008

Education is something we all cannot get enough of in our opinion, so we like to promote such high quality and educational works-of-art to small children, teens, and young adults, as much as possible. We can do this in many ways, of course, but one we found to be great fun is the Bayeux Tapestries woven into 77 different events for the fun and eventful wall hangings to be talked about with our youth.

Not that many kids know these stories, which is part of history and the shaping of events of long ago. It’s such a beautiful artwork and so nice that the original Bayeux tapestry (which, by the way is 230 feet long!) has been reproduced into all these smaller more manageable wall hangings is a treat. If they hang from the walls in their play room, bedroom or family room or den, the kids begin to wonder about what’s in the picture. What’s that all about? .. and right there you’ve got them captivated for the telling of these stories of William the Conqueror and England and how it all came to be, when William was crowned King.

You can find Bayeux Tapestries and other treasures at Decor4u.com and see what an enjoyment you might find for your children’s education and entertainment, at the same time. Enjoy.

What The World Needs Now Is Love, Sweet Love

September 30, 2008

With Wall Street free falling into the abyss and all, it’s a tough row to hoe when it comes to knowing what to do. That’s why I wrote the title the way I did. What the world needs now is love, sweet love.. like the song.

Our global warming issues are worrisome. Being Eco friendly can be a challenge. Knowing what to do with all your cash when stocks are so terrible at the moment is a problem. And when there are so many stressful issues at hand, I say don’t forget to smell the roses along the way, especially when things get to be so negative. By doing this you can find the goodness that remains intact in life.. and there is plenty of that left to go around.

Share the wealth of this goodness, too by smiling more. Greeting your neighbor with a hardy, “Hello”. When driving around, make it a pleasant excursion. The list is endless. Little things can and do help. These are the good distractions.

What the world needs now is love, sweet love. Today I’m buying a beautiful area rug for my living room, so I can lay down with my book and enjoy the day with my sweet little dog by my side. This is a treat for us. What will your treat be today?
