Comfort is key, so we want to look at getting the best home furnishings we can to make our dwelling or home a good place to be.
When just starting out a few essentials are really all one needs. Bedding for the bedroom, towels for the bathroom, kitchen table and chair and a few pots and pans and utensils for cooking and perhaps a rug if you can find one. Pictures come later or freehand drawings or artwork can work well, especially if you have kids.
TV and comfy chairs for the living room are great, but when things are tight then a rug on the floor will do nicely and a pillow and a good book. A lamp is a must for reading after sundown.
We have found the Habitat for Humanity has some wonderful selections of everything for your home that are very inexpensive and are more than affordable once you get your feet on the ground. The quality can be very nice too as these products come from donations from your local town or city people. They are redecorating or found something new they want and no longer need the old dishwasher or whatever. This does not mean these things are not really nice and high quality… they are just not needed anymore by those that donate.
It’s a great look to the future when just beginning to furnish your home. Habitat for Humanity Rocks!
