Habitat
February 1, 2008
The homeless are given more opportunities to find work and homes and are succeeding. That’s great!
We have many previously homeless persons with a new habitat. A new challenge is helping them find inexpensive home decor to make this new habitat a cozy home for their families and new lifestyles.
We have countless contributions that have made a big difference in making their habitat a home.
This are a couple recent donations that have made a difference:
Lumber yards donated several few pieces of scrap wood that is large enough to make a small tables for two & four. The wood is placed on a cardboard box (found in the back of the local supermarket). An old sheet (donated) is working out great for the table cloth. Now a family of four in their new habitat has a place to gather for a meal. It’s beginning to function like a home. Nice.
A large old area rug was offered to one family from another family that was moving out of town and chose not to haul it along. It’s nothing fancy, but it’s a dream come true for the family working on improving their home decor and making their new habitat a home.
A simple idea makes magic for many.
